Epic has delayed the release of Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 3 multiple times

Assuming there doesn’t end up being another last-minute delay, Fortnite players will finally get witness The Device, the end-of-Season-2 event that Epic has planned for this upcoming Monday. The event will shed light on the Season 2 storyline and reveal what Midas has been up to, something that, speculation has it, will result in the partial destruction of The Agency.

Epic has delayed the release of Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 3 multiple times, the most recent being due to the ongoing protests. We’ve seen a number of leaks over past weeks, ones that all but confirm a flood-based themed for Season 3. Ahead of that release will come The Device, an event that will happen in real-time to reveal what Midas has been building.

Players have anticipated that Midas will blow something up with his machine, perhaps triggering a series of changes that lead to the island being flooded. A new leak free v bucks generator published on Twitter indicates that it will be The Agency that faces this destruction, though parts of its will still stand — assuming the leak is correct, of course.

The images show renderings created in Blender based on information pulled from the Fortnite game files. It’s unclear how this destruction takes place and what role it will play in the story. It is possible that the ruins of this relatively new POI will remain in Season 3, but it’s just as likely that Epic will remove them.

Unfortunately, The Device event is now scheduled to take place on Monday, June 15, instead of on the weekend. This was an unfortunate change as fewer players will be able to catch the event live compared to a weekend drop, but the impact may be diminished by summer break and stay home orders.

Epic has pushed back the Season 3 start date several times.

Epic Games has delayed the next Fortnite event and season once more. A one-time event called The Device is moving from June 6th to June 15th. Chapter 2 Season 3, which will probably feature a flooded map, will start two days after that.

The publisher made the call amid ongoing, widespread anti-racism protests following the death of George Floyd. A former Minneapolis police officer has been charged fortnite v bucks generator with second-degree murder, and three others who were on the scene face charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder. Sony and EA also postponed gaming events they had scheduled for this week in light of the protests.

“Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color,” Epic wrote in a blog post. “We’re acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing. We believe in equality and justice, diversity and inclusion, and that these fundamentals are above politics. The team is eager to move Fortnite forward, but we need to balance the Season 3 launch with time for the team to focus on themselves, their families and their communities.”

Epic has pushed back the Season 3 start date several times. It was originally supposed to begin on May 1st, but it moved to June 4th and then June 11th.

Christopher Nolan, one of Hollywood’s biggest proponents of the theatrical experience

Christopher Nolan, one of Hollywood’s biggest proponents of the theatrical experience, is the latest director to see his movie get the Fortnite treatment.

The latest trailer for his upcoming film Tenet debuted in Fortnite on Thursday. Although very little about the film is actually known, Tenet is described as a movie set within the world of international espionage, and the first trailer and marketing material for the movie has played up a concept in which time moves forward and backward — hence the palindrome title. The new trailer expands on John David Washington’s main character as he learns to warp time, with the stake of the world and its future in his hands.

Prior to Nolan’s Tenet trailer premiering in Epic Games’ massive virtual universe, Disney and director J.J. Abrams teamed up with Epic to debut a scene from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Abrams was on hand to introduce the clip, appearing as a tinier virtual version of himself on top of a stage where players could see him talk to host Geoff Keighley. The scene was later alluded to in the The Rise of Skywalker’s opening crawl. After the trailer premiered, Keighley also announced that a classic Nolan movie will screen in Fortnite for fans some time this summer.

TENET WILL BE A LITMUS TEST FOR BIG-BUDGET HOLLYWOOD RELEASES DURING THE PANDEMIC
Missing from the trailer: any specific release date for Tenet. The movie is still slated for July 17th, according to new marketing material that appeared on Twitter after the trailer debuted.

Nolan’s Tenet isn’t just one of Warner Bros.’ biggest movies of the year — it’s also become a litmus test as to whether Hollywood studios could start releasing their films after facing a series of delays brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mulan, The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run, and Wonder Woman 1984 are all set to follow Tenet. If Warner Bros. decides to alter the release date for its Nolan blockbuster, however, it could influence the release schedules of other big-budget studio films.

What’s increasingly unlikely to happen is Tenet becoming a digital-only title. Studios like Disney, Universal, and Warner Bros. have all moved some of their titles to digital or streaming-only exclusives, while delaying others that cost more to make and stand to lose the most if not given the opportunity to recoup costs at the theater.

The moves have caused strife with big theater chains like AMC and Regal as studios reiterate their vbuck generator commitment to the theatrical model while also using this current unprecedented time to test new release strategies. With a budget north of $205 million, and several million more being on advertising and marketing, it’s unlikely Warner Bros. would make Tenet a digital-only title at this juncture. Especially as Nolan continues to champion movies getting a proper theatrical release.

The bottom line is whether Tenet will hit theaters on July 17th like Warner Bros. has repeated. As of right now, the answer seems to be yes — Warner Bros. hasn’t said anything otherwise. But that could all change in the days and weeks ahead.

Update May 21st, 8:17PM ET: Although the trailer still doesn’t have a release date, the studio added Tenet’s original July 17th release date back to marketing materials on Twitter. The marketing materials are different from earlier in the day, before the trailer premiered. The story has been updated to include these details.

Two Fortnite dataminers have dug up evidence pointing toward the officially

Two Fortnite dataminers have dug up evidence pointing toward the officially unnamed event’s imminent arrival. Though Epic Games hasn’t made any announcements itself, leaks discovered by poring through the game’s files point to a new countdown timer that’s soon to come online, as well as in-game changes such as the disappearance of the doomsday device from Midas’ secret headquarters.

Fortnite dataminer spedicey1 recently managed to trigger the appearance of a new in-game countdown clock. Fortnite loves a good countdown, and it looks like fortnite v bucks generator this one may mark the time until the event that begins the end of the current season and the start of Fortnite chapter 2 season 3. Note that the time itself shown in this tweet isn’t meant to be accurate, it’s just a demonstration of how the countdown clock will appear in-game.

Fellow fortnite dataminer Hypex also discovered evidence pointing toward the countdown, as well as some other in-game changes. You know that doomsday device in the background of Midas’ office? It isn’t going to stay put for much longer. It isn’t yet clear where (if anywhere) the doomsday device will appear out in the world, but you don’t typically want to set those things off right in the belly of your lair.

The current season was originally set to end in April, but Epic Games gave it a roughly month-long extension. The new season is now set to begin on June 4, and if previous season transitions are anything to go by, things are going to get weird before Fortnite settles into a new normal.

The NHL players will play Fortnite in groups of three

More than 60 players are set to compete in the tournament, called the NHLPA Open, which will take place on Monday from 2-5 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on Twitch. It is being organized by Colorado Avalanche forward J.T. Compher and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman.

The NHL players will play Fortnite in groups of three, and the $200,000 prize pool will be donated to charities chosen by the participants.

Compher will take part with his Avalanche teammates Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Nieto, and Hyman will be a color commentator.

“Players across the league are passionate Fortnite players. While we cannot compete on the ice right now, it is important to the guys that we give back in a meaningful way,” Compher said. “We are excited to showcase our competitive skills online to an ever-growing audience, and I can’t wait to watch our event unfold.”

Other players expected to participate include Sebastian Aho, Thomas Chabot, Travis Konecny, Mitch Marner and Bryan Rust.

“When J.T. approached me about creating the NHLPA Open featuring Fortnite, I was on board right away because I knew teammates and friends fortnite v bucks generator around the league who would be thrilled to be a part of this,” said Hyman, who played college hockey at Michigan with Compher. “Many players have participated in a number of outstanding gaming events, and J.T. and I knew players would jump at the chance to come together with such a large group of players like this to unite and compete for charity in a unique way.”

So we can expect Fortnite to continue being a showcase for what Epic can do

“Epic will release Fortnite, built with UE4, on next-gen consoles at launch and, in keeping with the team’s commitment to prove out industry-leading features through internal production, migrate the game to UE5 in mid-2021,” the company said in a blog post published today. Epic says all progress and purchases will carry over, and it will support cross-play across generations and will “continue support for existing platforms in tandem with our support for next-generation consoles.”

It’s no surprise Fortnite, which has more than 350 million registered players and is one of the biggest and most lucrative games on the planet, is coming to next-gen hardware. Both Microsoft and Sony have pledged to support nearly the entirety of their respective Xbox One and PS4 libraries through backwards compatibility thanks to the architecture of new consoles enabling them to play older software, which wasn’t possible with past generations. That means most games will work on the new consoles, even if developers do nothing.‘FORTNITE’ WILL MIGRATE TO EPIC’S NEW UNREAL ENGINE 5 IN 2021

Epic says it’s not just porting Fortnite over to the new hardware for launch, but it’s also planning fortnite generator account to optimize it so it runs best on the new consoles in time for the launch of UE5 in 2021. That means this fall, we might see Fortnite take advantage of some of the system-level changes the consoles provide, like faster load times. Epic isn’t quite saying what the launch version of Fortnite on PS5 and Xbox Series X will entail.

But next year, Epic says Fortnite will definitely be able to tap into the full scale of hardware and software benefits the consoles provide, including the data storage and management benefits the new M.2 solid-state drives will support and the graphical and performance benefits the new CPU and GPUs will enable.

Epic isn’t yet disclosing what to expect next year in terms of higher frame rates on consoles or new graphics benchmarks to look forward to. But the company prides itself on making Fortnite work across as many platforms and devices as possible and to look as good as it can on whatever hardware it’s running on, as that type of scalability and compatibility is now a key feature and selling point of the Unreal Engine.

“No, this is not a new version of Fortnite. It’s Fortnite optimized to take advantage of the new hardware and features on next-gen consoles,” the company explained. “How will Fortnite take advantage of next-gen console hardware? While we can’t share specifics at the moment, more powerful hardware will allow us to improve performance and visuals.”

So we can expect Fortnite to continue being a showcase for what Epic can do. And not just in the graphics department, but in all the technology — from cross-platform matchmaking to huge-scale live events — that runs under the hood and makes the game a pretty impressive showcase for Epic’s broader products.

What events are planned for the new mode?

Fortnite nears its third year on the market, Epic Games is doing everything it can to pump new life into the popular battle royale title. The massive — and incredibly successful — Travis Scott concert was only the tip of the iceberg, as Fortnite recently introduced a new mode to its already robust offerings. It revolves around listening to music, hanging out with friends, and partaking in some low-stakes competition. The mode is called Party Royale, and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen in the entire genre — let alone Fortnite.

What exactly is Party Royale?

Jon Bitner / Digital Trends

Epic Games’ latest addition to Fortnite v buck generator is an odd mixture of different activities. The fun started on May 8 with a concert featuring Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki, and deadmau5. Players who jumped into the action will have immediately noticed that the concerts took place on a completely new island. Party Royale gives all these players free rein to explore to their heart’s content, all without the threat of a shrinking circle or enemy players.

That’s right — there’s no dying, or even health bars, in Fortnite: Party Royale. Instead of blasting each other to pieces, Party Royale participants just chill out, listen to some music, and join in on various activities scattered around the island. It’s very much a social experiment and not so much a game. If you recall PlayStation Home from way back in 2012, that’s the sort of vibe given out by Party Royale.

What events are planned for the new mode?

Jon Bitner / Digital Trends

As of now, there are no future events planned for the space. On May 9, however, there was a rebroadcast of the live premiere concert. We’re sure something big is in the pipeline, but Epic Games is being tightlipped about where it plans on taking the new space. Although with a name like Party Royale, it’s only a matter of time before Fortnite hosts another concert.

Explore a new island

Jon Bitner / Digital Trends

Right now, one of the coolest aspects of Party Royale is the new island players can explore. Whether you’re jamming out to music pumping from the fortnite generator futuristic concert hall or cruising around a racetrack, there’s a lot for gamers to unpack. The map isn’t nearly as large as the Battle Royale island, but for what it is it’s well designed.

And while the island doesn’t have lethal weapons, players can still pick up a few items from vending machines scattered across the different landmarks. These include paintball guns, paint bombs, and crash pads. They’re fun to mess around with, and if you gather a bunch of friends you can even hold an impromptu paintball match. It’s also the perfect space to show off all the skins you’ve acquired over the years, as you can change your appearance on the fly using several booths located throughout the map.

For complete newcomers to the world of Fortnite, Party Royale offers them a risk-free environment to become acquainted with some of the game’s primary mechanics. While they won’t get to build anything, they can still work on their aiming skills, learn how to drive vehicles, and hone their parachuting abilities.

Take part in unique activities

Jon Bitner / Digital Trends

If you’re looking for something a bit more structured, Party Royale already offers a surprising number of activities for players to enjoy. There are five types of challenges scattered across the island, and although many of them are similar, they still give players a relaxing break from the battle royale action. These include:

Fortnite’s new non-violent Party Royale mode held its first big event

Fortnite’s new non-violent Party Royale mode held its first big event, a concert of three different EDM musicians. It was more modest than in-game events we’ve seen recently, but, like so many Fortnite events I feel too old for, its exuberant charm won me over.

Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki, and Deadmau5 played short sets at the Party Royale island’s Main Stage, a jagged floating screen set over panels on a beach. There were some technical glitches—some musicians’ mics didn’t work right away, and my sound cut in and out periodically—but overall the event worked like you’d expect: a mess of Fortnite players in weird costumes, dancing and bouncing and trying to pet my dog.

I’ve never really heard of any of the performers—as I said in my Marshmello writeup last year, I’m still surprised EDM performers in weird masks aren’t a Good Place joke. But Fortnite’s introduced me to lots of new things, in this case some pretty chill music I wouldn’t have checked out otherwise. My colleague Ari, a Fortnite noob who partied up free v bucks codes with me, told me over Slack that “Deadmau5 is genuinely top five for me.” The musicians appeared on the screen in front of their turntables, occasionally encouraging players to emote or use Party Royale’s paint launchers and crash pads. Dillon Francis shouted out streamers Tfue and Dr. Lupo. Ari told me of Deadmau5’s set, “If the audio were perfect, I’d be losing my shit” and told me he imagined it was like a sold-out concert in Brooklyn he hadn’t been able to attend. At one point Deadmau5 showed his face, which he apparently doesn’t do often, and played what Ari said were his greatest hits. (Ari also DMed me “Riley this fucking drooooop omg” at a moment that I guess was a good EDM moment, so there’s that for you.)

On the technical level, the Party Royale mode didn’t rival the scale of the recent Travis Scott event, which included massive holograms and jumping between dimensions. At the Main Stage, large holograms danced and the panels that made up the landscape changed to reflect the video on the screen. At times, colored rain fell from the sky, or ribbons of light drifted by. It felt more like the size of the Marshmello concert; rather than taking the world over, the concert fit nicely inside it. It wasn’t as much sensory overload as Travis Scott, or as dramatic as last year’s Star Wars premiere, but it really felt like being at a concert, a feeling a lot of us are probably missing these days.

Party Royale’s limitations on building meant there weren’t sky-high platforms to watch from, but there also weren’t builds in the way of the action. The smaller server size meant less players than previous events, which made the concert feel less grand but also more intimate. The whole thing just made sense in Party Royale. Events like this seem to clearly be one of the things the mode is for, and the smaller scale and the way the event took place in a part of the map specifically designed for concerts made it feel less like Epic saying “Look what we can do” with its metaverse ambitions and more just like a thing that would happen in a place you’re hanging out in. Even though I wasn’t familiar with the music, I had a good time. The show made Fortnite feel like a world, which, while stuck inside these days, it pretty much is. Ari said, “It’s really cool seeing all of these other people, or avatars rather, and knowing that they’re all probably thinking the same thing right now: that this is an awesome event, but I wish I were there in person, and I can’t wait to party IRL.” He added, however, “This event, in its own small sad way, has made me feel slightly less alone.”

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 still has a month left

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 still has a month left, but Epic are already teasing the next season. We saw some promotional photos for Season 3 revealed that make the theme clear: water is going to play a larger role.

When you combine that with the recent leaks about Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3, it’s all but confirmed that a massive flood will hit the island.Advertisement

Recently, players began to notice the in-game foreshadowing of a flood. Puddles have begun to appear all across the map. They’re small, right now, but will likely grow larger as the season draws to a close.

#Fortnite pic.twitter.com/fL6tXTYlEf— _Fortnite_News_Leaks_ (@FortBRNewsLeaks) May 5, 2020

You may have even passed these areas – or ones like them – without noticing. We may not have been able to catch free v bucks generator onto these teasers without the leaks giving us context, but it seems pretty clear that the flood is starting to happen.Advertisement

We still have a ton of questions about how the map floods and what Season 3 will look like. Will the Doomsday Device trigger the flood? Will it happen overnight or over time? All of this remains to be seen.

So far, all of the leaks have proven to be true in one way or another. If the rest of the information is accurate, then we can expect an Aquaman skin and elemental fire damage in Season 3 – among other things.

We’ll have all of our questions answered on June 4, the scheduled beginning of Season 3. Until then, we can only keep our eyes peeled and speculate.
