Thanks to Epic’s latest Fortnite update you can now play as Captain Marvel,

Thanks to Epic’s latest Fortnite update, you can now play as Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Taskmaster. But imagine being the actor who brought one of those Marvel heroes to life. Brie Larson is in that very position and shared her reaction to playing as Captain Marvel in the game.

“Standing with superhero royalty,” Larson tweeted, along with a picture of the Marvel characters on fortnite v bucks generator the sweet custom-skinned Nintendo Switch she uses.

Fans let Larson know the Captain Marvel character had become available and that she should check it out. Her reaction is pretty much perfect: A tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who played Black Panther.

If you’ve been following along with Larson’s newish YouTube channel, you’ll be well aware of her love of gaming, particularly Animal Crossing: New Horizons, during lockdown. She’s also an ambassador for the game and a longtime Nintendo fan.

Entertain your brain with the coolest news from streaming to superheroes, memes to video games.

But she’s clearly getting into Fortnite. “I’ve also now got Fortnite into the fold and so then for my more competitive friends and family members, that’s become a huge source of connectivity and entertainment. I’ve been quite addicted to that game as well now,” Larson told Elle in November.

You can nab the three new Marvel skins in the Marvel Royalty and Warriors Pack.

Marvel and DC hero will be coming to Fortnite sometime soon.

Fortnite is continuing its hunter-based season 5 here in Chapter 2 with even more licensed deals bringing famed badasses to the game. We already have The Mandalorian, Kratos and Master Chief, and the Super Smash Bros-like collection will continue to expand by heading back to comics, where Fortnite has already mined dozens of skins to date.

New leaks as of the patch today suggest that both a Marvel and DC hero will be coming to Fortnite v bucks generator sometime soon.

The DC hero, seen above, is Green Arrow. You might imagine that a “hunter” from DC would be someone more famous like Batman, but he already got his own Fortnite skin a while back. But Green Arrow still qualifies, and this sure seems like it’s based on the Stephen Amell version of the character from the CW’s Arrow, rather than the comic where Oliver Queen is usually blond and his costume looks like motorcycle gear.

Arrow
Arrow CW

This is not a timed crossover, though. Arrow has been off the air since January, packing up its tent while the rest of the Arrowverse it created moves on. But yes, it definitely looks like that version of the character, for whatever reason.MORE FOR YOUSony Reportedly Offering ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Refunds For PS4 And PS5 After Gamers Cry FoulThe Best Way To Earn Money In ‘Cyberpunk 2077,’ $300K A Day Easily‘GTA Online’ Cayo Perico Heist: Release Time And What’s Coming

The second hunter on the way appears to be none other than Marvel’s Black Panther.

Now, this is obviously a tricky one. What I believe happened last season was that Black Panther was going to debut as a store skin, but then Chadwick Boseman passed away and Fortnite scrapped that idea after already building the skin. But now they get to showcase him as the Marvel skin for the season. There is no full leak of how the skin looks yet, but there are “Wakanda Forever” challenges coming that reward an emote (you know the one), and dataminers have said that Black Panther has an NPC tag. That does not confirm he’s 100% going to be a skin, but given that all NPCs in the game from this season are skins, it heavily implies that.

Here’s how to get the full set:

  • Right shoulder armor: This is the first piece Beskar of you can unlock, and the easiest to get. It’s hidden in the wreckage of Mando’s ship, the Razer Crest. • Left shoulder: Earn weapon specialist accolades(damage other players with five different weapons).

  • Left Arm:Go to “where the Earth Meets the Sky.” Open the chest at the top of the tallest mountain southeast of Catty Corner.

Be What the Gods Have Made You

Following the final battle of last Season, the Zero Point has become exposed. The danger? The Island’s Characters are now at risk of escaping the Loop. Unable to prevent this alone, Agent Jones has enlisted the help from realities beyond the Loop, including a reality PlayStation fans are well familiar with…

Among the first figures to arrive beyond the Loop is Kratos. As Kratos, you may have taken down Valkyries of ages past, but now it’s time to fight a battle that will shape the future of the Island… Join the hunt to make sure no one escapes the Loop.Play Video

Join the Hunt as Kratos in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 5

Below, we’d like to share more about what it looks like to fight this consequential battle as Kratos — specifically, all his gear plus a brief overview of Chapter 2 – Season 5’s gameplay.

Be What the Gods Have Made You

Kicking off the new Gaming Legends series is the Oathbreaker set, comprised of the Kratos Outfit plus gear from his time in Midgard — all available now in the Item Shop for purchase. Take Kratos with you to join the hunt.

In your previous feats as Kratos, you’ve probably put on many different kinds of armor. As v buck generator nod to his Norse adventures, when you play a match of Fortnite on your PlayStation 5 after purchasing the Kratos Outfit, you’ll unlock the Armored Kratos Style in glorious gold.

Fortnite - Kratos

Also available for purchase in the Item Shop is the Guardian Shield Glider, a memento of Kratos’ beloved wife Laufey the Just. And as Mimir gave you wisdom in Midgard, he also has your back on the Island: take the Head with you in battle in the form of the Mimir Back Bling.

Brok and Sindri are on your side as well: harness the power of the Leviathan Axe as you harvest with the Leviathan Axe Pickaxe.

Fortnite - Kratos

The Leviathan Axe Pickaxe is special in more ways than one, as this Pickaxe includes a built-in Emote. With the built-in Freezing Burst Emote, show off the frozen leviathan.

The Hunt is On

At Epic, we’re excited to have Kratos join the hunt. Not only does his history make him a great candidate for Agent Jones’ mission, but his legendary status makes him an esteemed addition to the world of Fortnite.

From Santa Monica Studio, Cory Barlog also mentioned excitement around the partnership:

“Having Kratos in Fortnite is a mashup that we’ve been talking about for a long time, so it’s especially gratifying to see the collaboration come to fruition! The first thing I’ll do with Kratos in the game is hold hands or maybe go for a moonlit stroll with Mancake. I’m most excited about the Guardian Shield glider, that thing is AWESOME.

I want to give a big thanks to all the devs over at Epic for the incredible job they did realizing Kratos in Fortnite. I’m truly in awe of their talent and passion.”

Need a Chapter 2 – Season 5 primer before jumping in? You may have a familiar ally in Kratos, but the battle itself is quite different than in Seasons past.

In addition to new weapons and locations, this Season brings brand new gameplay. As a hunter, you can take on quests and bounties from the Island’s Characters, get intel from them, purchase their “Exotic” weapons, or hire them to be on your side. And if you don’t want to negotiate, you can challenge them to a duel and reap the rewards.

Fortnite has been absent from the App Store since August after Epic Games

Fortnite is coming back to iOS devices via Nvidia’s cloud gaming service GeForce Now, a workaround that allows players to access the game while Epic Games and Apple engage in a contentious legal battle over Apple’s App Store policies.

KEY FACTS

Fortnite has been absent from the App Store since August after Epic Games purposefully circumvented Apple’s 30% App Store fee, causing Apple to kick the game off the App Store for violating its policies.

Though users who already had Fortnite v bucks generator downloaded still have access to the game, Epic can’t push out updates, causing daily active users to decline 60%, according to a September court filing.

PROMOTED

GeForce Now allows users to stream Fortnite in Safari instead of playing it on an app, which means it isn’t subject to Apple’s App Store rules.

Though a beta version of GeForce Now launches on iOS Thursday, Nvidia said Fortnite won’t be immediately available because it is working on implementing touch-friendly controls for the game.

CRUCIAL QUOTE

“Alongside the amazing team at Epic Games, we’re working to enable a touch-friendly version of Fortnite, which will delay availability of the game. . . . We’re looking forward to delivering a cloud-streaming Fortnite mobile experience powered by GeForce NOW. Members can look for the game on iOS Safari soon,” Nvidia said in a blog post.

KEY BACKGROUND

Epic for months has been locked in a legal battle with Apple over the tech giant’s policy of taking a 30% cut of in-app purchases, which the gaming company says is anticompetitive and unfair. Epic asked a judge to compel Apple to put Fortnite back in the App Store while the lawsuit plays out, but the court ruled against the gaming company in October. Epic’s opposition to Apple policies have created a larger movement of tech companies against the tech giant, including Spotify, Match Group and Tile.

Samsung announced today that it is “relaunching” the Galaxy Store with a new focus on gaming

Samsung has operated its own app store for years, the Galaxy Store, seemingly as a backup ecosystem in case the company’s relationship with Google ever soured. There aren’t many reasons to use the Galaxy Store over the Play Store, but Samsung now turning Epic Games and Google’s ongoing legal battles to its advantage with a new marketing push.

Samsung announced today that it is “relaunching” the Galaxy Store with a new focus on gaming, but the only free v bucks generator change of substance is that the bottom tab bar is being revamped. The store is now separated into two sections, Games and Apps, with the option to view Galaxy Watch apps moved to a new scrolling bar at the top.

The “relaunch” is primarily to remind people that they can still download Fortnite from Galaxy Apps, since Samsung doesn’t care if Epic Games uses its own payment system for in-app purchases. Samsung also highlighted the presence of the Xbox Game Pass app, which exists on the Play Store, but purchasing games and DLC inside the app is exclusive to the Galaxy Store version. Neither of these apps are new — the Xbox app arrived alongside the Galaxy Note20, and Fortnite has been on the Galaxy Store since 2018.

It’s a smart move for Samsung to use its sudden Fortnite exclusivity as marketing for the Galaxy Store, but the game APK is also available for download from Epic Games. Google and Epic’s squabbles won’t be settled anytime soon, as a trial between the two companies likely won’t occur until February 2022 at the earliest.

Things are moving fast in the Epic Games vs Apple battle

Things are moving fast in the Epic Games vs Apple battle. After Fortnite was pulled from the App Store for breaking Apple’s rules — sneaking in a direct payment method to get around the in-app purchase system — Epic almost immediately filed a lawsuit against Apple. Now the game developer says that Apple is terminating its account.

Epic shared the update on Twitter today, calling the removal of its account a “retaliation” for filing a lawsuit against Apple. The developer says that Apple is planning to terminate all of its accounts and cut it off from iOS and Mac development tools on August 28.

Epic has asked the Northern District California court where it filed its lawsuit last week to block Apple from terminating its developer account in a new filing. But considering how Apple expressed that it was willing to work with Epic Games to get Fortnite back on the App Store and then Epic responded with a lawsuit and a calculated protest, that may not be very likely with Apple having the higher legal ground here.

Here’s the opening of Epic’s latest filing after hearing that Apple is set to terminate its account:

Just over two weeks ago, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook was asked during a Congressional hearing whether Apple has “ever retaliated against or disadvantaged a developer who went public about their frustrations with the App Store”. Mr. Cook testified, “We do not retaliate or bully people. It’s strongly against our company culture.”1 But Apple has done just that. When Epic gave users of its app Fortnite a choice of how they wanted to make purchases, Apple retaliated by removing Fortnite from its App Store. Then when Epic sued Apple to break its monopoly on app stores and in-app payments, Apple retaliated ferociously. It told Epic that by August 28, Apple will cut off Epic’s access to all development tools necessary to create software for Apple’s platforms—including for the Unreal Engine Epic offers to third-party developers, which Apple has never claimed violated any Apple policy. Not content simply to remove Fortnite from the App Store, Apple is attacking Epic’s entire business in unrelated areas.

Epic claims that beyond harming “millions of innocent consumers worldwide” who play Fortnite and its other games, Apple terminating its developer account is a threat to its Unreal Engine.

In addition, Apple’s retaliation represents an existential threat to Epic’s Unreal Engine. OS providers like Apple routinely make certain software and developer tools available to v buck generator software developers, for free or a small fee, to enable the development of software that will run on the OS. Apple intends to deny Epic access to that widely available material. Without that access, Epic cannot develop future versions of the Unreal Engine for use on iOS or macOS.

Background

When Apple pulled Fortnite over the direct payment method last week, an official statement from the company ended with “We will make every effort to work with Epic to resolve these violations so they can return Fortnite to the App Store.”

Shortly after, Epic posted this protest video based on Apple’s famous 1984 commercial, slamming Apple for running an “App Store Monopoly” and “blocking Fortnite from a billion devices.” And just over an hour after Fortnite was removed from the App Store, Epic Games filed a lawsuit.

Epic is not seeking monetary compensation from this Court for the injuries it has suffered. Nor is Epic seeking favorable treatment for itself, a single company. Instead, Epic is seeking injunctive relief to allow fair competition in these two key markets that directly affect hundreds of millions of consumers and tens of thousands, if not more, of third-party app developers.

In a 9to5Mac poll, 51% of readers agreed with Apple pulling Fortnite. Another 35% agreed with Apple but felt that there should be App Store rule changes. Just 13% felt Apple shouldn’t have pulled the app.

With the battle between the two taking another big step, what do you think? Does it make sense for Apple to terminate Epic’s developer account? Or does it feel like retaliation to you? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Epic will continue to only have a single class of common stock outstanding

Epic Games, the video game giant behind the hit title Fortnite, said Thursday that it was valued at $17.3 billion after a $1.78 billion funding deal.

The Cary, North Carolina-based firm said the investment came in the form of primary capital and secondary purchases, meaning some investors bought new shares while others bought stakes from existing shareholders. Epic said the investment included a $250 million strategic investment from Sony, which it announced last month.

Epic announced that a number of new investors have bought into the company, including Baillie Gifford, funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, Fidelity, Lightspeed Venture Partners, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, funds and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price and hedge fund manager David Tepper. Existing backers KKR and Smash Ventures also increased their holdings, Epic said.

“Having the support of leaders in the financial community accelerates Epic’s efforts to build a new kind of digital ecosystem using real-time 3D technology, services that connect hundreds of millions of people, and a digital storefront that offers a fair business model,” Epic founder and CEO Tim Sweeney said in a statement Thursday. “We are delighted to have them as part of the Epic family.”

Epic will continue to only have a single class of common stock outstanding and remains controlled by Sweeney, the firm said.

The company has become a force to be reckoned with in the $150 billion gaming industry thanks to fortnite v bucks generator the continued rise in popularity of Fortnite. The battle royale game now has a total of more than 350 million players, according to Epic. It has become a big revenue driver for the firm, with a free-to-play model that generates income from in-game payments for cosmetic items like skins.

But Epic is also known for its Unreal game engine software, which powers many of the world’s top games. The company also runs an online video games store that competes with Valve’s Steam.

The video game industry itself has experienced a boom in demand as consumers have turned to interactive entertainment for escapism in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. On Thursday, for instance, Nintendo posted a huge 428% rise in fiscal first-quarter operating profit, as sales of its Animal Crossing: New Horizons game almost doubled.

Epic’s $17.3 billion valuation represents a roughly 15% climb from the $15 billion the company was worth in 2018. Chinese tech giant Tencent holds a considerable minority stake in the firm. It’s not clear yet whether the company has any plans to go public.

Fortnite announce their Summer Splash event

As long-time Fortnite fans will tell you, small details can make a big difference when it comes to your weapons.

From reload speed to rate of fire, damage to magazine size, having the very best weapon can make all the difference when you’re battling it out to be the sole survivor.

While Fortnite uses a colour-coded system to differentiate between Common, Rare, Legendary and Mythic weapons and items, you’re going to have to do a bit more digging to find the very best in terms of damage-per-second.

Fortunately, esports bookmakers Unikrn has revealed all, confirming the top-five weapons in Fortnite to Express Online.

Based on stats since the 13.30 update, it’s the Legendary Rapid Fire SMG that does the most damage-per-second, followed by Jules’ Drum Gun.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Fortnite fans are persistently looking for the best and easiest ways to kill opponents to improve their chances of winning matches. And by looking at the guns on offer in more detail it can only increase their chances of this.

“The Rapid Fire SMG has been voted the most powerful gun, according to these statistics, but it’s only a matter of time before new weapons appear – potentially in a new update or most likely in Season 4 next month.”

You can see the top five Mythic and Legendary guns below…

1. Rapid Fire SMG (Legendary)

In Fortnite’s latest v13.20 update the standard submachine gun was heavily nerfed with its damage and fire rate dropped dramatically across each rarity.

However, the Rapid Fire SMG came out relatively unscathed?

This has made it arguably the best close-range weapon to use in the game. Now the most powerful of any gun in Season 3 so far, the legendary version does 255 damage per second.

In fact, each rarity except grey would be in the top 5 for dps.

2. Jules’ Drum Gun (Mythic)

The Drum Gun is Season 3 mythic gun and can only be obtained by killing boss, Jules.

It does slightly less damage than the Midas’ Drum Gun from Season 2, but it’s still incredibly powerful with 204 damage per second.

If you can get hold of it, it’s well worth the effort.

3. Submachine Gun (Legendary)

Not as quick or as powerful as the Rapid Fire SMG, but with the P90 being re-vaulted in the v13.20 patch, the standard SMG is a still useful go-to for quick kills.

Despite being nerfed in the update fortnite v bucks generator, the legendary version of the SMG still does 20 damage and has a fairly high fire rate of 10.

Overall its damage-per-second is 200 and still ranks among the best guns in the game

4. SCAR (Legendary Assault Rifle)

A fan favourite for many, the gold SCAR is a great all-round weapon in close quarters or for mid-range exchanges.

The legendary assault rifle is highly accurate and a first choice for thousands of players. It’s just a matter of stumbling across one.

5. Pistol (Legendary)

It may surprise many, but the pistol is one of the most powerful guns on the game by damage-per-second.

With 197 DPS, the legendary pistol is not far off the SCAR. Unfortunately, it also means you have to manually hit every shot you fire out of the barrel in that short space of time to get the desired 197 damage. Fortnite V-Bucks.
